Son­ali Ben­dre has been signed to play a piv­otal role in Balaji’s sequel to Once Upon A Time In Mum­baai (OUATIM) . The film titled Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai…Again already stars Akshay Kumar, Son­akshi Sinha and Imran Khan. Milan Luthria who directed OUATIM will be direct­ing the sequel as well.

Son­ali, who starred in sev­eral films like Sar­farosh, Dupli­cate, Zakhm, Hum Saath Saath Hain etc. in the 90’s, took a sab­bat­i­cal of sorts post her mar­riage to film­maker Goldie Behl. The actress was last seen in a cameo in Kal Ho Naa Ho.

In Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai…Again, Son­ali plays the role of Mum­taz and the actress is look­ing for­ward to work­ing with direc­tor Milan Luthria. Con­firm­ing this news, Tanuj Garg (CEO — Bal­aji Motion Pic­tures) tweeted, “It’s true! The beau­ti­ful Son­ali Ben­dre to make her come­back after 9 years in ‘Once Upon A Time In Mum­baai… Again’!“
