Infibeam’s Buildabazaar Extends Its DIY eCommerce Platform To Travel Segment

E-commerce com­pany Infibeam has now extended its self-service e-commerce back­end plat­form Build­aBazaar to travel seg­ment, allow­ing travel agents to setup their own travel e-commerce stores.

The ser­vice will allow store own­ers to access travel inven­tory from var­i­ous travel indus­try part­ners includ­ing flights, hotels and buses and earn com­mis­sion for each book­ing made on their site. In addi­tion, store own­ers can also add their own local travel inven­tory and focus on spe­cific tours and pack­ages depend­ing on the sea­son and the location.

Pack­ages: The ser­vice is cur­rently avail­able in dif­fer­ent monthly pack­ages start­ing at Rs 1000 Sil­ver plan for a basic e-commerce store for indi­vid­ual agents, going up to Rs 2500 Gold plan for busi­nesses and a cus­tom plat­inum plan for cor­po­rates. There is also an ini­tial setup fee of Rs 35,000 and Rs 70,000 in case of Sil­ver and Gold plans respec­tively. Expect­edly, the seller com­mis­sion also varies based on the plan, while the sil­ver plan offers 3% com­mis­sion on air­line book­ings and 5% on other travel book­ings like Hotel, Bus, Car rental; the gold plan offers 5% com­mis­sion on air­line book­ings and 7% on other travel book­ings like Hotel, Bus, and Car rental.

Started in May 2011, Buildabazaar is a self-service e-commerce plat­form which allows busi­nesses to cre­ate their own web stores, upload their own prod­uct cat­a­log, orga­nize their mer­chan­dise, make their own PG (pay­ment gate­way) inte­gra­tion, track orders and sell it on Infibeam.com and Infibeam Affil­i­ate stores in addi­tion to their own pri­vate stores. In addi­tion, it also allows busi­ness to sell Infibeam prod­ucts on a com­mis­sion basis.

Infibeam had claimed that more than 10,000 stores had been setup on the plat­form as of April 2012, includ­ing the recently launched Air­tel Shop and promi­nent offline retail­ers like The Mobile Store, Cross­word, Hidesign among oth­ers.

Other Play­ersMart­Jack offers a multi chan­nel retail­ing solu­tion to retail­ers, man­u­fac­tur­ers and other busi­nesses, to build and man­age their web stores easily. It had recently launched inte­grated solu­tions for sell­ers to list on Amazon’s Junglee.com and had claimed that this solu­tion is used by more than 2000 online stores across India, US and the UK, includ­ing Video­con, Next Retail, Gitan­jali Group, Olive Tele­com, Base­Camp among others.

Besides this, there is Amadeus India which offers a travel e-commerce plat­form and e-commerce solu­tions and Bigraja which offers an E-Commerce and shop­ping cart soft­ware and branded online store fronts
